Happiness: Choose it – it is Delightful!

Have you ever chased the Ice Cream Truck?  I remember running through the house, screaming to my Mama, chasing the truck down the street and being so excited about getting ice cream from the Ice Cream Person!  I would be full of laughter and anticipation of my wondrous treat.  It just was not the same as going to the store for this special treat.  This wonderful memory was made fresh when I saw – and actually ran after – an Ice Cream Truck at a friends house.  And the truck was my favorite color too – purple!  I was happy to bring back that feeling of joy.  It reminded me how serious we take life as we grow into adulthood.

I challenge each and every one of you to think back to a wonderful memory and get happy!   It is a choice.  I was recently at the grocery store and it was busy.  I noticed the people around me were not even smiling.  I could feel they were really uptight.  I put a smile on my face, took a deep breath and began thinking about Tai Chi in the park and I began to feel really happy.  So, choose your thoughts and be happy!

Want to Find Some Peace? Meditate, Baby!

When the Center was open, every Thursday for six years I taught meditation classes. Many people still ask me how to meditate. There’s so many different ways to meditate! Simply put, meditating is focusing or concentrating on one thing, like Tai Chi. That’s why I love Tai Chi so much. There are many tools that can assist you in your meditation practice. For instance, a candle flame, music or humming. You can also meditate while gardening, doing dishes or other sedate activities.

However, there is one constant – BREATHING! My breathing has changed in the last year and a half since I closed the Center. Back then my breathing was what I call too serious. Not that I don’t take meditation serious – I do. I was being too serious in trying to control everything. Now I sing and hum to relax my energy. As I relax my breathing becomes deeper as I sing. Changing the way I meditate makes me feel more connected to the experience. Without listening to a meditation CD or reading from a book, I create my experience and it works perfect for me. You may want to try this idea – choose a meditation from a book and read it into a recorder. Listening to you tell you what to do – can be very powerful. Imagine Mother Earth giving her gifts just for you! Crystals are amazing!

The laws of physics tell us that all matter is energy in physical form. Matter is anything that takes up space as a solid, gas or liquid. Gemstones and crystals are examples of solid matter. Formed over eons by way of high pressure and heat, the Earth’s gemstones embody concentrations of energy. Crystals are formed from vapor or liquid that has been compressed or exposed to temperature changes. Presently, we use the energetic and physical properties of gemstones and crystals in many areas of technology. For example, they are used in lasers to perform delicate surgeries and in computers to move information almost instantly around the world. Gemstones and crystals are also used to focus and amplify the natural energies of the body to improve or boost wellness.

The use of gemstones for healing and other spiritual practices has its roots in ancient cultures. These practices have thrived over the centuries and are still used in our modern day world. There are numerous books, websites and other media about the use of gemstones and crystals for spiritual practices.

So, what value do you put on the energy of gemstones – and crystals? If you use them, what do you use them for? The following insights are from two different people followed by my own thoughts on this topic.

Viewpoint 1: I definitely believe gemstones and crystals have a place in my life. I have felt the grounding affects of Snowflake Obsidian, Hematite and Jet. Lately, with all the energy shifts I have had to practice grounding more often.

Viewpoint 2: I use crystals for many things. I have also discovered I can pick up a regular stone from outside and it becomes what I desire at that time. I put my intention into the stone. For instance, it might become a healing stone or a stone for reducing my stress. I have stones I put around a water fountain and my intention with these stones if for abundance!

Angel: I use gemstones and crystals as I do any other tool – when it’s appropriate, when it feels good. I use them for healing, grounding the house and amplifying energy. I also use gemstone wands for energetic healing sessions. Amethyst helps for dream recall, protection and much more. My favorite gemstone is Black Tourmaline. For me, it is so calming and protective – I feel like I am in a bubble of love.

A Higher Frequency – Joy! & Video

Where do we find joy? Joy, like all other emotions, whether negative or positive is a vibration or frequency. Guilt, fear and anger are all frequencies under 200. On the other hand, love, joy and gratitude are all frequencies over 500. Raising our vibration then, may be the key to experiencing joy. When the body’s energy, or frequency, is higher we are healthier in many ways.

The following is a list of suggestions for finding joy in your life. Ultimately, you must choose to be happy and joyous. You are the only one who can find reasons to feel good and experience joy. These may help get you started.

  • When you step outdoors see the beauty Mother Earth provides and be joyous. Really look at the flowers, plants and animals. Take a walk and look for nature’s beauty. Enjoy it.
  • Watch children – they seem to know the key to happiness. Joy seems natural to them as they sing, dance and play. It may be a good idea to play and have fun. Discover your inner child; see life through a child’s eyes.
  • Tune in to yourself. Take joy in making peace with whom and where you are. See the beauty of self. Acknowledge your divinity and live in appreciation.

All these actions tend to raise your emotional frequency. So, whatever it is that you find makes you feel good, happy and joyous, do it and do it often. You may find the feeling of joy comes to you easier as you practice it.

Discovering the energized you and raising your energy is important when it comes to being happy and healthy. A higher energy level boosts the immune system, keeps internal organs fit and releases those natural “feel good” hormones. The body functions better, the mind thinks with focus and stress is reduced. The following lists several ways to boost your energy level:

  • Practice love – Begin by loving yourself; look in the mirror and say “I love you!” Name 10 things you love about yourself. Express love to family and friends. If you have a pet, hold them, love and enjoy them.
  • Breathe – Inhale and exhale through your nose. Your lower belly should expand and contract as you breathe.
  • Drink water – Drink half your weight in ounces of water each day.
  • Smile, laugh and have fun – Smile radiantly, sincerely and joyfully at every opportunity. Laugh; watch a funny movie, share jokes with your friends, laugh at the absurdities of life. Make time for fun activities.
  • Stretch and Exercise – When you awake in the morning stretch your body; during the day take breaks to stand and stretch. Give your body a workout; walk, bike, swim or try Tai Chi! Go dancing or dance by yourself. Find an activity you like and do it regularly.

There are many other ways to raise your energy. I am excited to offer a new class about raising your energy! The class material will offer even more ways to raise your energy. Retrain Your Inner Voice & Bonus Video

Macmillan Dictionary defines “retrain” as “to learn, or to teach someone, new skills that are needed for a job”.  Well, throughout your waking hours you have an inner voice chattering nonstop even though you are not aware of it. This constant stream of conversation may create challenges by distracting and diminishing your ability to be truly “in the present”. Your inner voice may be communicating negative thoughts, preventing you from moving forward and achieving your potential.

Does your inner-voice chatter about how unworthy you are, how difficult a task or goal will be and even saying you will not succeed! The good news is that we all have the ability to train this chatter in a positive way which may elevate, encourage and uplift us.

Here are some suggestions you may want to try separately or in combinations:

  • Take a walk – “Earth-walking” is a type of focus that involves tracing your steps in a pattern that repeats until you have come to a state of inner peace. The figure eight, the Infinity symbol, is a soothing yet powerful first pattern to try. You may notice your inner voice is unable to keep your interest for long when focusing on walking a pattern.
  • Chanting – Mantras or just singing the song of your soul may give you the power to reach your goals and lift you from the ordinary to a higher level of consciousness.
  • Place your hand or a finger on your forehead and say: “Okay, I hear you. Be quiet!” Then put your hand or finger on your heart and say: “I am listening with my heart right now!” This one is great for those times when you are on the run and want to shift your focus quickly – and it is FUN!

Daily affirmations, aromatherapy, meditation or Tai Chi may also work well. By using any of these methods you are training your subconscious mind to focus on the present and be positive.

Your inner voice is a wondrous part of who you are. By replacing self-defeating chatter with positive reinforcement the chatter may become supporting self-talk. It may boost your confidence. The more you practice turning your subconscious into your advocate, the greater success you may experience with your goals, manifestations and desires.

The power of love is legendary, built into folklore, history, common sense and daily experiences. There are many types of love. Some examples:

The beneficial effects of love take place on all levels and dimensions:

Hundreds of research studies confirm that negative emotions have negative impact to our health. It also confirms that positive emotions, such as love, may heal us and benefit us the same way exercise and a healthy diet do. Because of all the health benefits, love may actually extend our lives. Research also shows a connection between improved health and spirituality; a higher love or self-love. No matter what path we take, the search for life’s meaning boosts the immune system and lowers risk of disease.

The more we extend our connectedness and practice love the greater our impact to everything around us. When thoughts and actions come from a place of asking for your highest good and the greatest good of all, you are acting from a place of love. You become love in action!

Allowing your energy to tune in to the light of love you begin to resonate in harmony with your “All That Is”. Emotions with lower frequencies transform and begin to vibrate at the frequency of love. You radiate love, giving it freely and benefiting all around you. You become a beacon of love, peace, harmony and hope.  You discover the more you increase your love and radiate it out, the more you can receive.

Meditate and focus on your heart chakra. Focus on love and feel it increase in-depth and strength. You may find yourself relaxing, becoming calmer. Begin with self-love and caring. See love in others and send them your love. The more you practice being open to love and filling your Being with love, the stronger this vibration will become and the more it will grow. YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF LOVE!

Action to Enlightenment & Bonus Video!

There is no right or wrong way when you are ready to take action to enlightenment or spiritual growth.  You have the potential to develop your awareness.  Humans seem to naturally seek that awareness in a variety of ways.  You have the ability to personalize your spiritual growth by choosing from a wide range of ideas and tools.  The most important thing is to take action.  Try different things – what feels right for you?

Often people search their past, looking for what happened to them and why. They ask “Why am I the way I am”?  It may be wiser to lovingly accept yourself as you are and move forward.  Others may begin to move forward but overload on the massive amount of information available through books, classes and the internet.  After feeling buried in the opinions of others they feel confused.  Seeking and learning are good; however you must believe in and trust yourself.  Choose what feels right for you.

Enlightenment does not mean a complete about-face to what you know and/or have grown up with. You need not set aside your fundamental religious beliefs unless you choose to do so.  Many Lightworkers practice a formal religion as well as taking part in other spiritual activities.  Think of your enlightenment as using your peripheral vision.  Instead of looking straight ahead, you are opening yourself to experience self discovery and love!

There are several actions you can take to bring your spiritual life into focus.  Here are just a few:

  • Learn techniques to ground and balance
  • Tai Chi – slow, deliberate and focused body movement
  • Learn breathing techniques to increase energy flow
  • Regular periods of time set aside for meditation
  • Spiritual Coaching

Grounding & Video!

Grounding is very powerful. It is the action of consciously creating an energy connection from the human body to Mother Earth. Everything is made of energy. When energized, your frequency increases. When grounding your body, the Earth acts as an electrical ground. Just like the third prong on an electrical cord, the Earth absorbs excess energy.

Have you ever felt dizzy, slightly nauseous or “spacey” during or after some activities? This may be your body telling you there is an excess of energy. You have the ability to release this excess by grounding. To avoid this build up it may be very wise to ground before energetic activities. Grounding may increase spiritual awareness. As you ground, your mind clears and becomes focused. You may feel more fully in the present with greater awareness of your surroundings. Grounding may also enhance whatever you are experiencing.

A few examples are:

  • a Full Moon ceremony,
  • an energy healing session,
  • Tai Chi or
  • meditation

It may also do wonders for activities such as exercise, special time with a friend or even at work.

For me, I found the most effective way to ground myself is to visualize roots growing from the base of my feet and sinking down to the Earth’s core. For a full description of this, watch my video! Other suggestions are:

  • Eating something healthy
  • Walking, especially in natural surroundings
  • Practicing Tai Chi
  • Carrying or wearing gemstones, especially Snowflake Obsidian

There are many other ways to ground yourself.  You may want to try different methods and stick with the one that works best. Bring grounding into the different aspects of your life and notice the difference it makes. You may need to ground several times during the day, depending on your energy level and the activities you are taking part in.

Angel Shares “ah-ha” Moments & Video

What “ah-ha” moments have you had this year? In the lull between Christmas and New Years it may be a good time to reflect on the amazing year now coming to a close. You may be amazed by the personal and spiritual accomplishments which took place. I want to share some of my “ah-ha” moments with you to help you get started with your own.

One of the most dramatic times for me was when I completely lost my Chi. It was a time of recognizing how wise it is to take care of myself and to focus on ME. I developed healthier habits and am feeling the best I have in years!

I recently had an experience where someone gave me a compliment about my beauty. I really had to stop, breath and take this in. I am aware I am a beautiful human being. I make this statement with joy and love for my physical self! This lead right into acknowledging I am spiritually full of LOVE and I have VALUE. Sharing my love and value is a special gift I give others.

As you know, practicing Tai Chi is one of my favorite activities. One of the most profound realizations this year has been the importance of focusing on breathing. Through research I found food and water, although necessary to physical health and wellbeing, are considered negative to the body. This is balanced by focusing on breathing. With stress and tension, our bodies react with short, almost gasping breathes. This affects how our body uses other energy resources – like the food and water. At any given moment of the day I can focus on and practice breathing deeply to strengthen my energy.

Looking back at all my relationships I would not be the same person if I missed any of these connections. Whether old acquaintances or new, each individual filled me with joy, love and growth.

So, before you start your New Year’s resolutions, you may want to take time to review this year. You too may discover “ah-ha” moments in experiences which make you the wonderful and amazing person you are!
