Permission: The Rewards of Allowing

This week I was not feeling well and fought the inclination to keep moving.  There is always so much to do and I began to be concerned about missed opportunities if I chose to take the time to rest and heal.  It did not take long for me to decide on my action.  I gave myself permission to take time and allow my body to heal.  It seemed as though giving myself permission was a turning point.  I immediately felt a weight had been lifted; I relaxed into the thoughts of healing and getting some sleep.

I have been finding out more and more the rewards of allowing my life and the world around me to unfold.  It is a habit which, in the beginning, takes some focus and effort however, the rewards are great.  When I began to develop this habit I noticed that as soon as I thought of allowing, my shoulders relaxed, then my entire body.  It is as though the responsibility of self judgment and judging others disappears and in its place is the knowing that all is as it should be.  As I continued to bring allowing into my life I noticed feelings of happiness, love and inner joy sprang into my being as soon as I let go of the negative feelings of self-denial, judging and control.

Permission and allowing are synonymous – closely related in meaning.  Often one word is more powerful than the other.  For me, in this instance, saying, “This is okay, Angel – you have your permission to stop and heal,” was very powerful.
So, I wanted to relay to you the fantastic rewards of allowing, giving permission, for your life to unfold.
  • Stress disappears, the body relaxes
  • An awareness of living in the present moment comes into focus
  • Emotions switch over to positive; seeing the possibilities takes place
  • Desires begin to pop into reality

What was my desire?  I wanted to let go and allow time for healing. I wanted to feel well, wanted someone to take care of me and wanted some assistance with healing.  All of these things came into my reality!  I appreciate you all for sending your love and healing.

Manifesting: Joyously Creating

This week I held my first class on Manifesting Your Desires and it was very successful.  I wanted to share some of the highlights with you.

Manifesting is all about the Law of Attraction.  What you think and feel is your reality.  You create every moment of your existence and you – and only you – have the ability to change what you are creating.

Stay in your own energy and set boundaries to help you control what is unfolding around you.  Understand that everyone around you is manifesting their own realities.

Let go of the negative and fearful thoughts and emotions in your life.  You choose your emotions.  Ask yourself, “Is this a negative thought or an intuition?” Act on it or release it – with love.  Bring emotions such as love, joy and bliss into your reality.  Build a habit of living in joy and looking for the positive.  Practice the art of allowing.  Allow life to unfold around you as you allow others to create their own reality.

Focus on, “What do I really want?” When you are ready to manifest the physical or material things you desire, give it to the Universe in great joy!  The Universe will immediately begin to make it happen.  Understand you may have to take action to bring your manifestation into reality.  For instance, if you desire a better job or new career, it may be wise to begin networking, job searches or a return to education.

Keep a Gratitude Journal and write down the things that you appreciated during the day.  You know, I discovered writing is too much like work so it does not happen regularly however, speaking aloud is very powerful.  As I fall asleep I give appreciation out loud.  When I awake I am full of appreciation and joy.  It is a new day with more joy and more to appreciate.

Live in the present – BE in the NOW.  Take meditation breaks, nature walks or other activities that keep you focused on the present.  Appreciate your life in the now.

Expect your manifestations to come into your reality.  Daydream about what your desires and add details.  Expect it as though it is already there and feel the joyous emotions of what you have created.

Like a child, be excited and have fun with it.  I would love to have your come to the next Manifesting Your Desires class.

Happiness: Choose it – it is Delightful!

Have you ever chased the Ice Cream Truck?  I remember running through the house, screaming to my Mama, chasing the truck down the street and being so excited about getting ice cream from the Ice Cream Person!  I would be full of laughter and anticipation of my wondrous treat.  It just was not the same as going to the store for this special treat.  This wonderful memory was made fresh when I saw – and actually ran after – an Ice Cream Truck at a friends house.  And the truck was my favorite color too – purple!  I was happy to bring back that feeling of joy.  It reminded me how serious we take life as we grow into adulthood.

I challenge each and every one of you to think back to a wonderful memory and get happy!   It is a choice.  I was recently at the grocery store and it was busy.  I noticed the people around me were not even smiling.  I could feel they were really uptight.  I put a smile on my face, took a deep breath and began thinking about Tai Chi in the park and I began to feel really happy.  So, choose your thoughts and be happy!

Cicadas Song Becomes Confirmation

I went to Prescott this last week for some “me” time.  I wanted to get away from all the electronics and spend time in nature.  Even with this in mind I took along my computer.  Although Wi-Fi was available I could not get on the internet.  I laughed a little knowing I was there to get away from what I actually brought along!  With the internet excluded I found other little things to do.
As I made my way through this time I began to realize I did not have to push so hard in my day to day life and taking some quiet time was beneficial.  I slowed my pace, felt more in balance and connected to nature.  I spoke to the Cicadas that at times were quite loud.  I spoke to them about “being” as they are; to exist in the moment, to grow and be in nature.  I felt the Cicadas song was just for me – a song of confirmation that quiet time is healing.  Watch the video and listen to their beautiful song!
When I returned to the city and came back on line I realized I did not miss anything.  I discovered I had greater clarity and focus.  Many of my manifested desires seemed to pop all around me.

My experience is similar to what just happened to a friend of mine.  She accidentally locked herself out of her house and onto the patio.  When she told me about it she said the experience forced her into a quiet time.  She relaxed, meditated and spent time loving her plants and surrounding trees.

Spending quiet time has so many benefits!  Whether you meditate, spend time in nature, manifest or BE in the moment, the quiet brings balance, peace, inner joy, introspection and the answer to our desires.

Crying: More than Tears

Most of us in our childhood were taught crying was a weakness. When I cried I heard statements like, “What is the matter with you?” and “I will give you something to cry about!” I learned it was best not to cry or to hide my tears. Many of us grew up this way and some remain solid as a rock, holding in emotions that might generate tears. When my spiritual journey began I found crying was a great way to release emotions which were stored up over the years. I learned crying was not a “bad thing” and I usually feel great after a good cry. Recently I did a little research and found there are several health benefits of tears.

Most of us know – from crying – that it reduces stress and calms emotions. Many of us also know crying is a way to rid the eyes of irritants while lubricating the eyes. Crying releases endorphins – those “feel good” hormones while also detoxifying, getting rid of hormones that are harmful to different parts of our body. Tears contain a chemical known as lysozyme, a natural anti-bacterial that works to keep infections from happening in the eyes. And because the tear ducts are connected to the inside of the nose, crying cleanses the nose of harmful bacteria and irritants. Crying is good for relationships when you cry in front of others. It allows you to be vulnerable in front of others and allows them to take care of you, creating emotional bonds.

Spiritually speaking, I see Lightworkers shed tears for many emotions such as joy, gratitude, grief, inner peace and enlightenment. Crying may also take place in Coaching Sessions and Readings. Remember, water can move mountains, one tear at a time!

Patience: Allowing Life to Unfold

We have all experienced times where our patience runs thin. We tense up and may even become aggressive in words or actions. The best example of this is the lack of patience we see while driving. Drivers may seem to become entirely different people when they are rushing to complete errands or make appointments on time. Sometimes these situations are comical however, they show a lack of focus on remaining calm and practicing patience.

I am occasionally an impatient person myself! When this happens I feel the energy building and surging without an outlet. The tone of my voice changes and I begin to lose focus on allowing life to unfold. My inner self tells me to seek calm while my mind is racing ahead. I work with myself to bring back the calm. I stop and think some key thoughts and take actions which give me the ability to become patient. Allowing, whether with myself or others brings on a calm where practicing patience becomes effortless. The following are a few tips on how to stand in your power yet practice patience.

  • Take inventory of your energy. Where does yours end and others begin? Grounding and centering yourself might make an immediate difference.
  • Ask yourself, “How can I help” or “Do I need to step in and help?” Helping others to improve a situation, without judging, may bring everyone back into focus and the practice of patience.
  • How are you feeling? If you are feeling stressed and know you are losing your patience you may find that stopping to take some deep breaths will  bring about focus, generate positive thoughts and allow calm to come in. The “Toilet Exercises” are always helpful!

So, breathe and allow! You will be amazed as life unfolds around you as you practice mindfulness and joy!

“Adopt the pace of nature. Her secret is patience.”  ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Spiritually: The Meaning of 7 and 8 [video]

Celebrating life is one of the joys we all have the ability to create. Sure, we all hook up on Facebook and we know, in general, how all our friends are doing. However, virtual contact and communication is no replacement for seeing, communicating and fellowshipping in person. Celebrating life with others is healthy! Recent studies show that social interaction boosts health and may be a positive factor in extending a life of health.

I will be celebrating 7 years of success as Lightworkers Gifts and Energy Healing Center.  This celebration – a wondrous party – is my gift to you in appreciation for the love and support you have given so freely.

Seven years!  The spiritual essence of the 7 is about reflection on the spiritual nature of things; investigating, analyzing and intuiting of inner wisdom.  It is about the quest to discover the inner landscape of life in relationship to higher truths.  This has been so true when I consider what Lightworkers Gifts brought to the community.  It really states what my desires have been, not only for myself but for all those who came into my life during the last 7 years.  I feel so blessed with gifts and talents which have a positive impact to those who enter my life!

Coming into the eighth year, I am excited about all the possibilities and opportunities!  Spiritually, the number 8 is charged with the responsibility of working with integrity to build a world of the future, aligned with higher consciousness and serving all humankind.  At the highest level, the 8 may be one of materializing wealth, following a path of power, achievement and success.

Your gift to me is to come and celebrate the success of Lightworkers Gifts! Come join us for healing, inspiration, presentations and drumming – come and have fun! Party Party!

Power! Confidence! Balance! Setting Boundaries

In my practice I have found that people do not understand boundaries and many do not have boundaries. Personal boundaries are guidelines, rules or limits that people create to identify, for themselves, what are reasonable, safe and permissible ways for other people to behave around them. Boundaries include how an individual will respond when someone steps outside those limits. They are built out of a mix of beliefs, opinions, attitudes, past experiences and social learning.

Personal boundaries define you as an individual, outlining your likes and dislikes, and setting the distances you allow others to approach. They include physical, mental, psychological and spiritual boundaries, involving beliefs, emotions and intuitions.

When setting my boundaries it is a way of loving and caring for myself. I found that the boundaries I set in my life play a key role in successful, healthy relationships with others. My boundaries also help me manage my daily life. For instance, when someone I know calls me, they might hear me say I have so many minutes to talk and we may or may not need to talk later. When we discuss it we might go ahead and set up a good time for a call back.  When people visit my home I am very open about my boundaries. I let others know where to find extra water, snacks, the bathroom location and more depending on the situation.

The following are a few good tips on setting boundaries.

  • Know your likes and dislikes; know yourself
  • Identify boundaries you wish to set
  • Tell others
  • Stick to the boundaries you set.

Other people want to know your boundaries. It helps them feel comfortable around you and it urges them to honor your boundaries. When people know and communicate their boundaries everyone benefits. Interested in learning more about boundaries?

Daily Pratices for More Joy

These are three good practices I use daily. Making these a part of my life has brought more excitement and joy into my life experiences.

  1. Letting go of control: Realizing that we are not in control over the events that take place in our life helps us let go of the attachments to the outcome.  By changing your thought patterns you may reduce stress and worry about how all the details are going to play out. When you realize you are pushing, pushing, pushing – Stop, relax, breathe and let go.
  2. Accept that you are amazing! From the moment you awaken, smiling and bringing up your energy, release the limiting beliefs of your past self. Create a fabulous new you every morning.  Always remember and give yourself permission to be amazing.
  3. Human – yes, you are! Mistakes are going to happen. People feelings are going to get hurt and you will sometimes feel hurt also. Give yourself a break! Be forgiving, compassionate and loving to yourself.

If these resonate with you, write key words on a piece of paper and tape it to your mirror. First thing each morning, review your key words and practice them until they become a part of who you are because you are amazing!
